I never set out to be a marketer.
Years ago, I started as a nightlife promoter.
I was a university student with a passion for dance music.
I was hustling to get people to show up to events, and eventually worked my way into the DJ booth.
For a while, it was everything I wanted.
But after a few years, the excitement started to fade.
I wanted more. More control over my life. More freedom to create. More possibilities for the future.
So, I made a bold move.
I packed my bags, booked a one-way ticket to New York City, and enrolled in a Pre-MBA program.
It felt like the safe, respectable choice everyone around me would approve of. Get a degree, get a job, live your life.
But deep down...
I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was heading in the wrong direction.
Every lecture felt like a distraction.
Plus, I was about to spend tens of thousands of dollars for a piece of paper that would qualify me for a job I didn't even want.
I realized I was on a path that would never fulfill me.
So, I dropped out.
Friends called me crazy. Family questioned my choices.
But I was done playing by other people's rules.
The first thing I did was launch a local marketing agency.
I had experience promoting events, building websites, and running campaigns. So that's what I did.
For a few months, I worked with some clients...
And I hated every second of it.
Client work drained me.
It wasn’t freedom or success. It was a different kind of cage.
I knew I couldn’t keep going like this.
So, I quit.
Again.
But instead of giving up, I pivoted. I started experimenting. I was still sold on entrepreneurship, but wasn't sure what to do exactly.
So in the following months...
I tried pretty much everything.
I launched an online radio station (which flopped). I tried creating two clothing brands (both failed). I built theme pages, tried a dozen other small projects, and racked up
more failures than I could count.
Every time I failed, I felt the sting of disappointment. I was hungry to succeed, but deep down I knew I wasn’t ready.
I needed to level up. So...
I threw myself into learning everything I could about marketing, sales, and business.
I became obsessed.
Every waking moment was dedicated to studying.
I devoured books, watched YouTube tutorials, and binged podcasts. I also enrolled in online courses.
If it promised to make me better, I consumed it.
I studied the psychology of buying, how to craft offers, and how to build funnels that convert.
I didn’t just want to dabble in marketing. I wanted to master it.
Even though the projects weren't giving me the success I craved...I wasn’t truly "failing".
I was gaining something of great value: knowledge.
I didn’t realize it at the time...
But all those small failures were laying the groundwork for something much bigger.
The years of trying & failing made me feel like I was running out of options.
I had the skills, the knowledge, and the drive, but nothing seemed to click.
So I wondered.
What’s next?
I was tired of pouring my energy into projects that didn’t pay off.
But one idea kept nagging at me:
It felt bold, almost naïve.
I didn’t have a product. I didn’t have testimonials.
I didn’t even have an audience.
But I did have years of experience promoting nightlife events.
I realized I could take that knowledge, turn it into something actionable, and offer it to people who needed it.
So I got to work. I built a simple funnel, wrote out the offer for a pre-order, and hit "launch."
Then I did the only thing I could do...I went to sleep.
I didn’t expect much.
After all...
I was trying to convince complete strangers to give me money for something that wasn't even available yet.
But when I woke up the next morning, something happened that I’ll never forget.
I grabbed my phone, still groggy, and opened my notifications.
At first, I thought there was a mistake.
Then I saw it—sales.
People I didn’t know had bought the offer overnight!
I sat on the edge of my bed, staring at the screen as the realization sunk in...
This WORKS.
I didn’t need a massive audience, years of proof, or even a finished product.
I just needed the right offer, the right system, and the courage to put it out there.
That moment changed EVERYTHING.
The idea that I could create something out of nothing and get paid to do so was the spark I’d been waiting for.
And from that moment forward, I knew I’d never look at marketing the same way again. Over the next few years...
Anything from ebooks, courses, templates, and on and on.
All by using funnels, content, ads, and automation.
I built newsletters with thousands of subscribers from all around the world...
Social media brands with millions of views...
And I turned the pre-order campaign into a digital product brand with customers from 10+ countries.
I used the same skills to build an audience of thousands for my content and music. I did it without a label, a manager, or spending a fortune on ads.
At that point, I realized something powerful - that many fail to realize.
Think about it.
Marketing is vital to every successful business, creator, and brand. Without it, even the best ideas are dead in the water.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a musician, an artist, or an entrepreneur—if you can’t market your work, no one’s going to care.
And that’s when it hit me...
That’s how Marketing For The Tribe was born.
It’s a place where I document everything I’ve learned (and continue to learn) about marketing in the real world.
No fluff, no empty promises, no millions overnight BS story.
Just practical strategies and systems that work. This isn’t theory. It’s not about abstract ideas or tactics that worked five years ago.
I’m in the trenches every day, building digital product businesses and growing my audience as a DJ entrepreneur.
The goal is learn, apply, and share what works...now.
Whether you’re trying to sell music, art, or a business idea...
This is where you’ll find the tools, strategies, and mindset shifts you need to make it happen.
Welcome to the tribe.
